Understanding the Thermodynamic Atmosphere Effect (Joseph E. Postma, March 2011)

We see that in every single instance of comparison, the Theory of the Greenhouse Effect appears to contradict what the Laws of Thermodynamics have to say about the exact same physical situation.

The conclusion of this article is very simple: there is no such thing as a radiative Theory of the Greenhouse Effect, not in real greenhouses, and certainly not in any planetary atmosphere known to man. The true role of the atmosphere, on Earth, is that it cools the ground, not warms it. Therefore, there is no such thing as Anthropogenic Global Warming or anthropogenic-CO2 induced climate change, because that supposition is based on the false Theory of the Greenhouse Effect.

Alan, I am glad to see you back after a long silence. But apparently you did not waste time - instead wrote a new paper.

So nice to see news of your latest work, you are a true skeptic hero. Please allow me to offer one other point about why skeptic scientists themselves have such an uphill fight in presenting their viewpoints: at first glance, they face what looks like an omnipresent accusation of being corrupt. I've discovered this actually stems from a small group of enviro-activists back in 1996, please see my paper at the Science & Public Policy Institute, "Are Skeptic Scientists Corrupt? Or Does the Accusation Fall Apart Under Hard Scrutiny?" http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/originals/are_skeptic_scientists_corrupt.html I also detail in an online article how the specific accusation has found its way into two of the three global warming nuisance lawsuits, please see "Global Warming Nuisance Lawsuits Are Based on a Fatal Flaw" http://biggovernment.com/rcook/2010/11/27/global-warming-nuisance-lawsuits-are-based-on-a-fatal-flaw/

From your own experience in the EPA and from the other skeptic scientists I speak about, the most basic problem of all becomes ever more apparent: People who seemingly do everything they can to promote the idea of man-caused global warming also seem to take extreme efforts to marginalize their critics - silence them, by default - rather than squarely face those critics and show us all what is wrong with the criticisms. This prompts an obvious question - do they have no confidence in the underlying science supporting the idea of man-caused global warming?

Good Evening,

I am looking forward to reading the article in some depth as the abstract caught my attention- esp "The costs of CO2 emissions reductions are very much higher than usually estimated because of technological and implementation problems recently identified."
